The Body Orchids
Poetry Drabble no. 6
This will most likely be my last poem/post for April, as I would like to focus on finishing other projects, such as The Legacy of Lovecraft. I have a lot of goodies in store for you all these coming months. 😊
Until then, I hope you enjoy this short little macabre poem.
I let it slip petal by petal from my lips a pink whorl swirls up large and septal Its snaking spike swells and oozes crimson, carnal metallic-sweet umbilical cable it chokes my pith its cradle I feel every pore every orifice bloom and bleed sharp stems sever, penetrate through me, heat blistering hot they feed Roots coiling in my core like slight fingers they probe deeper, deeper to where what little of me lingers.
So…what is this about? Parasitism? Assault? A fear of death gruesomely manifested? A floraphile who did too much experimenting in their garden laboratory and is now suffering the horrific consequences? I will let you, the reader, decide for yourself. :) As always, thank you for your readership, your support is always greatly appreciated! I like your imagery and your use of rhyme on this poem. To savor it more fully requires more than just one read. Thanks for sharing.
